I watched a documentary the other day called Simply Raw where a group of diabetics strictly followed a raw fruit diet for 30 days.
The results were pretty amazing, even after just a few days on the strict raw food diet.
You can watch the whole thing on Youtube. You will find the video towards the bottom of this article.
It did get me thinking though, is this the way to go for all of us?
A couple of days after watching the doco I ended up listening to a podcast where a guy called Rich Roll was interviewed. Rich has a pretty amazing story that also included redemption by way of eating raw food.
So is meat really that bad for us? What if they ate raw food and some meat as well? Would the diabetes still have been reversed?
One thing to keep in mind is that although they may no longer need insulin the underlying condition is still there. If the diet stops the diabetes would come right back, compared to someone that does not have this condition whereas there body can self regulate the insulin levels.
Let us know what you think of the documentary.
